This is an opportunity for a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual to provide administrative support in the capacity of an Administrative Assistant 1 position at Silver Spring State Park located in Ocala, Florida. Featuring one of the three largest springs in Florida, the 4,739.59 acre Park incorporated the 250 acre former attraction area around the main spring in 2013. Glass Bottom Boats, paddle craft rental, event facility rental, catering and other food service are handled through a concession agreement.
The selected applicant will be required to work independently with minimal supervision providing administration and visitor services. This is a nonresident position, and the work week will consist of Monday - Friday but may be called upon to assist in special events, holiday weekend coverage and emergencies.

Pay:
Base salary $2,730 month/$32,760 yearly
Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position assists in planning, coordinating, and implementing all administrative and budgetary activities involved in all park operations. Performs assigned fiscal audits, acts as purchasing agent, monitors, and tracks park budget, prepares budget reports. Processes payment of utility bills, requisitions, and initiates purchase orders through My Florida Marketplace. Acts as primary liaison for the Purchasing Card Program System. Maintains work project tracking forms, expenditures for projects and project files. Ensures compliance with all purchasing regulations. Programs office equipment, operates personal computer, E-Mail, Internet, multi-lines phone system, two-way radio system. Acts as liaison for personnel, maintains personnel files and assists with all personnel related functions including worker's compensation actions. Assists in overseeing OPS toll collectors and managing ranger station activities. Prepare special correspondence. Assists Park Manager in budget request process and property inventories.
Responds to oral and written complaints or complimentary written correspondence, makes resolution decisions. Assists Volunteers and Citizen Support Organization as needed or requested by supervisor. Administers concession fiscal transactions and monthly reports. Answers phones and directs calls to appropriate personnel, takes and delivers accurate messages. Acts as Office Manager for office operations and insures smooth operation of office procedures. Assists with maintenance of property files.
Prepares and processes documents relating to personnel activities to include leave and attendance, selection and recruitment, employee relations and travel.
Assists in assuring park compliance with current division policies, procedures and programs. Oversees and assists in training staff in proper administrative procedures and practices. Provides recommendations to park manager for processes and procedures which will promote efficiency and simplify park administrative functions. Attends meetings and training sessions and represents the Park Manager at meetings with division representatives, other agencies, and organizations.
Performs other related duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of: administrative and accounting principles and practices; office procedures and practice; data collection; personal computers, Windows, E-Mail, and Internet.
Knowledge and Ability to: collect evaluate, analyze, filing, accounting, personnel actions, purchasing, budget entry.
Skill in: coordinating bookings/reservations of a multipurpose facility; accounting, budgeting, expense tracking and various computer program and data entry operations.
Ability to: prepare correspondence and administrative reports; handle multi-phone lines and two-way radio system; operate and maintain office equipment; communicate verbally and in writing; coordinate work assignments; maintain effective working relationship with others; follow written and verbal instructions; resolve customer inquiries.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Maintain Valid driver's license.
- Successful completion of background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous professional office experience including budget and administrative functions
