Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, both on-premises and cloud-based.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and optimal performance of network services.
• Collaborate with Director of IT to configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Work with IT Director in installation, configuration, and maintenance of network security measures, including firewalls and VPNs.
• Participate in network capacity planning and scalability enhancements to meet growing business demands.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve network-related problems and ensure smooth communication between different departments.
• Contribute to the development of network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
• Support implementing network monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential issues.
• Onsite work including patching of comms cabinets, PC, Thin Client, laptop, and printer installations/troubleshooting.
• Provide help desk support for end-users.
• Third party vendor management.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in networking.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
• Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field; minimum 2 years of equivalent experience in an IT support role will be considered.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching).
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2019.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows 10 & 11.
• Hands-on experience with Office 365 & SharePoint.
• Hands-on experience with networking equipment (routers, switches).
• Familiarity with network security principles and best practices.
• Basic understanding of wireless networking concepts and technologies.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting endpoint and performance bottlenecks.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Microsoft Certifications or willingness to obtain one or more within the first year is a plus.
