SATO America – Romeoville, IL is seeking a Human Resources Generalist- temporary. As a Human Resources Generalist, you will be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and working closely with the HR Team in supporting all SAL locations. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Records and project management, Payroll, Benefits Administration, Employee communications, Performance management, Policy implementation, Talent acquisition, Employment processing, Employee relations and retention, Training and development, and Employment law compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Create job postings, source, screen, schedule, and interview candidates for open positions that meet the identified criteria.
  • Act as liaison with outside employment agencies, temporary services companies, recruiters, trade schools and universities.
  • Administer the hiring process to include the employment selection process, required pre-employment testing, new hire paperwork and new employee orientation.
  • Work with the hiring manager to develop and conduct new hire orientation for new team members.
  • Coordinate temporary workforce timesheets, scheduling, replacement, and communication.
  • Abide and follow all AA/EEO regulations and rules relative to hiring.
  • Ensure employee compliance with company policies and procedures and assist in facilitating progressive disciplinary action as needed.
  • Assist with benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, reconciliation and approval of invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Assist with the administration of workers' compensation, FMLA, Unemployment, COBRA and employee safety.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions and ensure policies, procedures and reporting comply.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Maintain personnel records, HIPPA, and other company information with the strictest confidence.
  • Maintain training matrix and records for employees.
  • Assist with annual benefit open enrollment
  • Assist with the payroll process
  • Assist employees with entering paid absence time in the online payroll system
  • Process employee updates relating to department change, promotions, merit increases, lead pay, and transfer of shift hours.
  • Enroll new employees in Time and Attendance and orient new employees to the payroll system
  • Supports management through the Performance Appraisal Process.
  • Work with the corporate HR team and other members of management in the development of benefit plans and programs in the best interest of both the company and its employees.
  • Assist with HR projects such as employee surveys, external award applications, trade schools and other projects as necessary.
  • Participate in monthly Safety Committee meetings and audit the monthly safety office checklist and prepare and maintain the OSHA Log & Reporting.
  • Responsible for employee celebrations and events including Safety luncheons, holiday celebrations, monthly celebration etc.
  • Maintain employee bulletin boards with current information
  • Assist with annual open enrollment
  • Assist with annual HR initiatives projects as necessary
  • Assist with ISO Audit, 401K Audit, workers comp Audit, FSC audit and other audits as necessary
  • Assist with all benefit-related paperwork filing including 401K
  • Update monthly reporting data to include HR data reports, headcount reports and various reports as requested

Education And/Or Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of related experience.
  • SHRM-CP certified preferred not required
  • Experience with Paycor preferred not required

Finger dexterity is needed to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
