Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly driven, energetic, and passionate Business Development Manager to lead and grow our Wholesale and Corporate Sales Channels. Wholesale customers include Bi-Rite Market, Bryan’s, Draeger’s, Epicurean Trader, Good Eggs, among other specialty food retailers. Corporate customers include event planners, hotels, real estate agencies, individuals looking for customized chocolate amenities, and hundreds of businesses who place holiday gift orders for their clients and/or employees. You will be responsible for the full-cycle sales process which includes prospecting new partnerships as well as growing and maintaining our existing customer base. This role requires someone who has the desire to build new relationships, the communication skills to conduct outreach both in person and by phone/email, and the ability to close deals. This role reports to our Director of Sales & Marketing, and works cross-functionally with Customer Service, Production, Operations, Finance & Accounting, and our Ferry Building Retail Store Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Represent the company successfully with comprehensive knowledge of our products and offerings.
· Create sales strategies and sales plans that will enable you to meet or exceed the Wholesale and Corporate channel revenue goals.
· Target prospective customers across multiple segments within the Wholesale and Corporate sales channels.
· Identify opportunities and conduct outbound prospecting with the goal of building relationships and scheduling meetings with potential customers.
· Create tailored solutions, presentations and proposals for customers; negotiate and close deals.
· Run and analyze sales reports to monitor progress and maintain accurate sales forecasts for the Production and Operations teams.
· Attend various networking events to build relationships with existing and prospective customers.
· Identify sales collateral needs and coordinate with Marketing to get them designed.
· Collaborate cross-functionally both in 1-on-1 and team meetings to coordinate smooth execution of sales orders, particularly for custom and/or large orders.
Job Qualifications:
· 3-5 years of sales/Business Development/account management experience with a premium food brand.
· Revenue driven, financial literacy a must.
· Outstanding sales, communication and interpersonal skills.
· Self-starter and goal-oriented; comfortable working autonomously but with the judgement to know when to loop others in or seek input.
· Detail oriented and organized.
· Experience working in a small, entrepreneurial company preferred.
· Computer / systems / software proficient (must be able to export reports and manipulate in Excel)
· Experience with Fishbowl Advanced Inventory Management software a plus.
Requirements:
· Must be able and willing to work on-site at our San Francisco facility located in Dogpatch, as well as travel locally around the Bay Area to call on and meet with current and prospective customers.
Compensation:
· Full-time role with competitive salary commensurate with skills and experience. Mix of base salary ($65K - $75K range) + sales commission. Realistic potential to significantly increase commission by driving growth in the Wholesale and Corporate sales channels.
· Mileage and parking reimbursement for sales calls; option for ZipCar membership.

· Relocation expenses not available.
