Job description

Will Consider Staff Services Analyst
Under the direction of the Consultant Services Administration Unit Manager, Staff Services Manager I (SSMI), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) provides technical, analytical and contract staff support services to the Consultant Services Unit. The AGPA performs the more responsible, varied, and complex technical analytical staff services assignments such as financial and analytical reports pertaining to the Architectural and Engineering (A&E) program. The incumbent ensures the correct and prompt processing of the contract invoice claims and keeps accurate account of contract cash management information, including encumbrances and expenditures.

The base of operation will be in the District Office. While in the office setting, he/she will be working in a climate-controlled environment with artificial lighting. Multi-floor buildings are equipped with elevators and stairs. Work environment includes constant interaction with a diverse group of customers and co-workers. This position may require sitting for long periods of time at a keyboard and using a computer monitor.


This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

Statement of Qualifications (SOQ)
In addition to the Standard State Application (STD.678), all interested applicants are required to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ). The SOQ serves as documentation of each applicant’s description of their qualifications that makes them the best candidate for the position. The SOQ must not exceed 1 page in length and written in no less than 12-pt. font. Each question must be addressed separately and in order.
