Under direction of a Deputy Labor Commissioner III, in the State Labor Commissioner’s Office of the Bureau of Field Enforcement program's Private Attorneys' General Act (PAGA) Unit, the incumbent is responsible for analyzing and evaluating submissions received for potential cases. The incumbent will also be responsible for evaluating and maintaining the data base to improve accountability of the data pulled for various reports and business needs. May also work in partnership with other government entities on the investigation and prosecution of these group claims. This is the professional journey level position.

Working Conditions

This position is located in Sacramento, CA.


The duties of this position are conducted most often in an office setting. The incumbent may be required to travel for field operations and trainings. The incumbent will have access to a state vehicle, laptop computer, printer, cellular phone, and other equipment necessary to conduct work. While in the field, the incumbent may be exposed to dirt, odors, noise, fumes, uneven surfaces, stairs, high-rise buildings, extreme weather conditions, and fast moving equipment. Current work location has plenty of free parking at our Sacramento office.

Department Information

The Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) was established in 1927. Its mission is to improve working conditions for California's wage earners and to advance opportunities for profitable employment in California. DIR administers and enforces laws governing wages, workplace safety and health, apprenticeship training programs, and medical care and other benefits for injured workers.
