We are seeking an Administrative Assistant for a local County Finance Department in Everett, Washington.
This is a Contract position working 20 to 30 hours a week. (possibility hours will increase to 40).
BASIC FUNCTION
To perform administrative support services in the preparation of Public Records requests. Administrative duties include but are not limited to researching and analyzing information, coordinating, and implementing technical/specialized work assignments and drafting and preparing written reports and letters.
Job Duties
- Process and redact records for Public Records requests
- Enter data and maintain files in the Public Records database
- Process and track requests received
- Conduct and coordinate search and internal review of relevant records
- Prepare redaction logs and letters
- Coordinate with other departmental and County staff
- Perform related duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of office administrative experience OR any combination of education, training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

- Communicate effectively and courteously with people of diverse backgrounds, both orally and in writing
- Skill in maintaining confidentiality
- Skill in following oral and written instructions and in following through on assignments
- Ability to read, interpret and apply relevant state and local laws, rules and regulations
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to utilize desktop computer applications, including MS Outlook, Excel, Word and Access and other applications as needed
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Initially work will be in-office in Everett, WA with possibility for hybrid work after training period.
