Job description

This is an 8 hour per day, 180 day Administrative Assistant I position with benefits at Mariner High School. Anticipated start date is as soon as possible.
Hours for this position are 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual and knowledge of ASB preferred.
The successful candidate will process payments for students and families. Manages all field trip paperwork. Manages all ASB fundraiser paperwork. Assists with POs and makes daily bank deposits. Prepares cash boxes for sports/fundraisers/concessions. Helps students work through FRL/HB1660 process. Works with InTouch.

JOB SUMMARY:
Perform a variety of clerical duties to assist students, staff, and parents and the general public.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide clerical support, answer phones; respond to inquiries from staff, parents, students and general public; direct inquiries to appropriate personnel; schedule appointments; and assist with other duties as directed for the purpose of providing quality customer service.
  • Process various documents and perform functions such as process mail and respond to inquiries; prepare and mail correspondence; responsible for a variety of information record keeping i.e., fiscal and/or student records; document filing, tracking information, data entry, etc.
  • May assist with student health needs.
  • May assist with supervision and monitoring of students.
  • Assist with student recordkeeping including student registration, enrollment, attendance, placement, and data entry of student information.
  • Word process, type, copy, collate, sort, file and distribute documents to support the efficient operation of school office services.
  • Prioritize and organize tasks for the purpose of meeting deadlines, accessibility of information, and completing job duties in a timely manner.
  • Comply with district policies.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by supervisor(s) for the purpose of maintaining an organized and efficient environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Skill and ability with operating office equipment, which may include: telephone, computer, typewriter, calculator, copier, laminator and media equipment.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use various software programs related to job responsibilities.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Education/Training:
  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Word process with accuracy at 40 w.p.m.

Experience Preferred:
  • Previous school district experience including knowledge of duties performed by various classifications of employees.
