Nassau Candy is a leading importer, manufacturer and distributor of candy, specialty confections, fine foods, and promotional products.
We are currently seeking a Confectionery Purchasing Assistant for our growing buying team Hicksville!
This exciting and vital role is responsible for providing detail-oriented administrative support to the Category Managers and the Confectionery buying team. You will be a self-starter who can switch gears easily, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Essential Functions:
- Set up new category products and update items in the system daily and seasonally.
- Work with marketing and art departments to ensure that images, descriptions, pack sizes, etc. are up to date and accurate for web and print.
- Generate reports, maintain and update excel spreadsheets for Category Managers as required.
- Process customer sample requests
- Maintain relationships with vendors and brokers
- Administer and process chargebacks.
- Other administrative and data entry duties as required by the department.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Intermediate Excel and overall computer skills.
- Experience providing administrative support to a buying or sales team in a manufacturing / distribution environment preferred.
- Ability to be resourceful and diligent while working both independently and in a team setting.
- Superb organizational, written, and verbal communication skills required for this role.
- Comfortable communicating actionable ideas to management, stakeholders, and vendors as needed.
