Accounts Payable Specialist

Nordson MEDICAL designs, engineers and manufactures complex devices and components with applications in wound healing, surgical and minimally invasive, fluid management, pulmonology and interventional and structural heart. Our pioneering Advanced Polymers team was the first to manufacture and supply medical balloons to the medical device industry. Job Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely processing of supplier invoices, timely resolution to payment disputes and deductions, and ensuring prompt payment of Accounts Payable through effective use of verbal and written communication. Position requires an individual who has sound problem solving skills, the ability to identify obstacles or issues and work both independently and in a team environment to develop and propose solutions.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Reviews, approves and processes supplier invoices for payment
• Supplier terms management
• Discount and Deduction management
• Dispute management
• Negotiates payment terms within established guidelines.
• Ensures proper credit limits and risk categories are in place to ensure timely processing of supplier invoices.
• Research disputed supplier charges
• Document related activities for assigned accounts
• Interact with suppliers to resolve outstanding issues
• Internal collaboration to resolve outstanding issues
• Accounts Payable month end reporting
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements
Education:

• Requires High School Diploma or GED; Associate or Bachelor degree preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience is required with an Associate degree
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience is required without a degree

Preferred Skills and Abilities

• Ability to analyze financial information
• Extensive knowledge of general accounting procedures related to supplier order management, invoicing, payment application, sales tax, Accounts Payable processing.
• General knowledge of changing economic conditions
• Knowledge in use of personal computer and PC Software (Microsoft Office)
• Knowledge of IFS software is a plus
• Superior written and verbal communication skills and inter-personal skills
• Professional and personable demeanor over the phone
• Superior organizational, decision-making and follow-up skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to adjust to flexible environment
• Ability to problem solve through technical and analytical analysis
• Experience in the Manufacturing industry a plus
• Outstanding customer focus including attributes of empathy, compassion and service orientation
• Passionate and high energy which can assist in selling future vision to customers

Base Salary Range for this position is: $20.00 - $25.00, and bonus target is 3%; shift premium may be available depending on shift associated with the specific job opportunity.
