JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Accounts Payable &Receivable Specialist/Bookkeeper to join our team in the residential construction industry. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing all financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. Your expertise will play a crucial role in supporting our company's financial operations and contributing to the overall success of our projects.

We’re looking for someone who has 5+ years of financial experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and bookkeeping. Preferably, you have experience in the construction industry, though this is not required. Though you will be working directly under the General Manager for support, you will be comfortable working independently, as this is currently a 1-person team. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer invoicing.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries, including journal entries and adjustments as necessary.
- Prepare financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements on a regular basis.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support project planning and decision-making.
- Monitor project expenses and track costs against budgeted amounts to identify variances and ensure profitability.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to provide financial insights and support project financial management.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulations in the construction industry.
- Weekly payroll processing for our small team and related tax filings as needed.
WHAT YOU BRING
Required
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Able to pass a background check
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Bachelor's degree
- Proven 5+ years experience as a bookkeeper and/or AR/AP Specialist
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online with a strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional critical thinking skills with a keen eye for errors and discrepancies and a memory for details.
- Strong work ethic, prioritization and time management skills. MUST be self-regulated and know how to take initiative to get things done on time and to a high standard of excellence
- Proficient in MS Office, Google Suite, Excel, and Quickbooks Online
- Able to provide professional references
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with integrity.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Familiarity with construction accounting practices and terminology.
- Knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations related to construction businesses.
