Overview:
Sunset Stone, LLC., is a leading manufacturer of stone veneer products on the Front Range. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our finance department as a Part-time Accounting Specialist, reporting to the Controller. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for managing full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and highly effective communication. This is a part-time position based onsite in our office in Castle Rock.
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely payments to vendors while adhering to company policies and procedures. Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and address any payment issues promptly.
- Generate and distribute client invoices, monitor accounts receivable aging reports, identify delinquent accounts, and implement appropriate collection strategies. Actively pursue outstanding accounts receivable balances through phone calls, engaging with customers professionally to secure prompt payments and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Maintain cash controls, including monitoring cash transactions, reconciling petty cash and cash accounts, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and financial reporting tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices (GAAP).
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in accounts payable and accounts receivable roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAGE 100, QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reconciliation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and customers.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines. Self-motivated and able to contribute to a strong team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to assist with various finance-related projects as needed.
Compensation
- This is a part-time position, with an estimated workload of 25-30 hours per week, offering flexibility in scheduling within core hours. This is a fully onsite position, not remote.
- The compensation package will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Range ($21.00 - $25.00)
