Description
Position Summary
Coordination of volunteer services for hospice patients and families including recruitment, screening, training, assignments, supervision and support of volunteers in coordination with the interdisciplinary team (IDG).
This position can be located in either the Detroit Lakes area and north or in the East Grand Forks area and south.
Key Responsibilities
• Recruit, screen, train, supervise and evaluate HRRV volunteers.
• Assess the patient and families need for volunteer services as identified by the IDG.
• Develop a written plan of care in cooperation with the patient, family and IDG that identifies the needs, outcomes, and interventions for each patient and family as it relates to volunteer services.
• Assign and coordinate volunteers per the plan of care and evaluate the patient and family's progress toward the defined outcomes.
• Supervise the volunteers on assignment ensuring quality patient/ family care, proper documentation of visits and adherence to established policies and procedures of volunteer services.
• Communicate accurate, efficient patient and family status reports to the team during IDG meetings and periodically as needed.
• Comply with facility contracts and other regulatory requirements as it related to volunteer services.
• Provide recognition and support to volunteers. Provide annual review for volunteers.
• Interview applicants and appropriately rejects applicants not suitable
• Provide back-up for other coordinators as needed.
• Communicate and collaborate with the Volunteer Services Manager regarding programs, volunteer issues needing address and/or patient and family concerns.

Qualifications
- Bachelor of science in human services or healthcare related field preferred
- Minimum of one year of professional experience with coordination of volunteers, healthcare or human services environment preferred
- Strong interpersonal and relationship skills, attention to detail and multitasking skills required
