Job SummaryThe role of the Teaching Assistant (TA) for COMM-101 is to enhance the learning experience of students enrolled in the course. Many COMM-101 students are first-year students. This position is defined as a non-exempt position under FLSA regulations. Specific Responsibilities
- Be available outside of class to assist students with assignments and projects. This might entail answering simple questions by email, screensharing guidance virtually or meeting in person with a student in need.
- Work with the instructor on the development of new assignments.
- Meet with the instructor weekly to review progress, concerns, etc.
- Set up and stow equipment for in class demos, assist in studio during class
- Must have completed Comm-101 with a final grade of A
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Working knowledge of Adobe Suite and Microsoft Suite; working knowledge of technical and creative development of website content. Learning Objectives Time management; leadership; interpersonal communication skills; technical problem solving; group communication skills; strategic planning. Required Qualifications:

- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior student who has taken (and passed) COMM-101 with a final grade of A.

Additional Requirements
- This position is paid $11 per hour, with an estimate of 16 hours weekly.
- Ability to attend COMM-101 course meetings during the semester (for Spring 2024 semester, COMM-101 section 01 meets MWF 8:45am-9:50am; COMM-101 section 02 meets MWF 3pm-4:05pm). Applicants who have other scheduled courses at these times will not be considered.
