Job SummaryLeadership & Engagement is looking for a enthusiastic, responsible student to join our team! The L&E Charlie’s Intern will provide information to students, faculty, staff, and guests of the university regarding all things happening in Charlies. They will budget, plan an implement weekly programming in Charlies and work with clubs/orgs in reserving this space.. This position will work closely with L&E professional staff and be supervised by the Assistant Director of Leadership and Engagement. This role also provides support to the Student Activities Committee. This position is 15-20 hours per week and requires summer, fall, and spring hours (remote work negotiable during summer). In addition to regular office hours, L&E student assistants must be available to work evenings and weekends. This position is defined as a non-exempt position under FLSA regulations. Specific Responsibilities
- Attend weekly planning meetings with the Student Activities Committee and with supervisor.
- Prepare and submit a budget through the Student Government Association with Advisor approval
- Collaborate with clubs/orgs and assisting with reserving Charlie’s for events/programs
- Required training with IT in being knowledgeable in all audio and visual tech.
- Responsible for the planning of weekly events at Charlies (Musical artists, poetry readings, open mic nights, etc)
- Keep track of attendance at all events
- Oversee all necessary changes with advisor input
- Serve as resource to Student Activity Committee Event Directors and make sure planning is completed well in advance.
- Partnership with Aramark dining services for all catering needs (Sundae Sundays, Wing Night, Etc)
- Responsible for clean up after each event
- Manage Charlies Social Media account and email
- Will have Charlie’s “Office Hours” to rent out board games, video games, etc
- Plan activities to foster a sense of committee engagement
- Manage filling of positions with Advisor
- Manage Student Engagement Site (Currently Presence)
