Job SummaryThe summer intern will be working within the Finance Office completing daily tasks, as well as other tasks as assigned. The normal work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. The summer intern will contribute to the overall success of the Finance Office by completing the tasks assigned. This position is defined as a non-exempt position under FLSA regulations.Specific Responsibilities
- Preparing daily cash receipts
- Assist with the preparation of year end audit paperwork
- Perform various account reconciliations
- Perform various financial analyses
- Assist with the Accounts Payable functions as needed
Learning Objectives
- Familiarity with the daily workings in the Finance Office
- Ability to perform cash receipt duties
- Familiarity with the various software applications used by the Finance Office
- Be a productive member of the Finance Office team.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
- The ability to communicate well, both in written and spoken form.
- The ability to multi-task and flexibility to move from one project to another when the need arises.
EducationFirst-year or Sophomore, Graduating May 2026 – May 2027Accounting majors ONLY
ExperiencePrevious experience is not required, but preferred. General office experience and finance experience is a plus.
LocationOn SU CampusAdditional RequirementsThis position is paid $10.00 per hour, with an estimate of 35 hours weekly.
