Job Summary: As the Receiving Inspector, you will be inspecting purchased parts and materials, identifying defects, and making crucial decisions on the approval or rejection of items. This role requires expertise in testing material composition, ensuring products adhere to standards, and showcasing technical or manufacturing proficiency. Candidates should possess strong observational abilities, effective communication skills, keen attention to detail, computer competencies, proficiency in accurately recording data, excellent time management, and the ability to interpret and comprehend blueprints.
Primary Functions:
- Receive materials and parts into the MRP System, verifying quantity and quality of each.
- Perform and document first article inspections from external suppliers as required.
- Read prints, measure parts or tools and work with the following types of gages to determine product or tooling conformance: Thread plug gages, thread ring gages, pin gages, plain ring gages, micrometers (various types), indicators, calipers, hardness tester, tri-rolls, optical comparator and other equipment or gages as needed.
- Move product to various locations throughout the plant utilizing an electric power jack or hand pallet jack. Lift containers from one skid to another, transfer products from one type of container to another and operate elevator to assist in movement of product.
- Use a variety of computer programs to acquire product prints from vendors, populate database information, record test results, view deviations, read and respond to emails, etc.
- Suggest improvements to processes and methods.
- Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement activities to assist team in meeting goals related to quality, cost and delivery.
- Communicate job status and relevant information to coworkers as appropriate.
- Utilize production report to prioritize workload.
- Conduct visual inspection of lots as needed or set up random sampling plans for larger lots of materials. Perform dimensional, thread, receiving, tooling, hardness, plating, and visual inspections as required.
- Complete inspection reports and Non-Conformance Report, as needed.
- Keep work area organized and clean at all times.
- Observe all safety regulations in all duties.
- Perform other duties as required.
- PMI (OES / XRF) of all alloy materials. Prepare and store records in the material test report data base.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Two or more years of related experience in Receiving and/or Inspection in a manufacturing environment, including use of various gages and measuring equipment.
- Visual acuity for detailed work.
- Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job such as:
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 35 pounds on a skid multiple times per hour.
- Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. from floor to waist, and waist to floor.
- Must be able to lift a maximum of 15 lbs. from waist to shoulder height.
- Must be able to use various hand tools and computer equipment.
- Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, reach, push, pull and safety navigate a manufacturing environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
