Must be able to provide references for each relevant project for Google Cloud listed on a resume.
Must have:
• Public Sector experience (California State Department preferred)
• 3 years of experience working with Google Cloud
• Experience working in a lead capacity.
Job Overview
As a Google Cloud Architect within our organization, you'll be at the forefront of designing and developing innovative cloud solutions tailored to meet the dynamic needs of our client's projects. Your success in this pivotal role hinges on your ability to architect, configure, and optimize Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solutions while ensuring the utmost security and compliance. This position serves as a cornerstone in our cloud team, collaborating closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive forward-thinking initiatives and resolve complex challenges.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Design and develop cloud solutions: Collaborate with the Technical and Project team to discern the department's evolving needs and translate them into robust GCP solutions. This involves revising the architectural framework as necessary and configuring GCP products and services accordingly.
• Manage cloud infrastructure: Take charge of configuring and managing GCP infrastructure and tools for the Project, overseeing tasks such as provisioning, configuring, and maintaining computer resources, storage, and networking.
• Ensure security and compliance: Guarantee the security and compliance of GCP cloud solutions by implementing stringent security controls and adhering to relevant regulations.
• Optimize cloud solutions: Continuously refine and optimize GCP solutions, identifying opportunities to enhance performance and efficiency through strategic configuration adjustments.
• Support the cloud team: Provide invaluable support to the DIR cloud team, assisting in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that may arise during project implementation and operation.
Qualifications
• Education level: Bachelor's degree in an IT-related or Engineering field, or equivalent experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
• Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years aligning IT systems with organizational business processes, with at least five (5) years in a lead capacity. Three (3) years of experience in virtualization or cloud-native architectures with Google Cloud Platform is required.
• Specific skills: Proficiency in designing and implementing cloud solutions on the Google Cloud Platform, including hands-on experience with analytic warehousing technologies (e.g., BigQuery, Looker), data processing technologies, and Terraform configuration. Strong expertise in architecture design, schema design, and query optimization of scalable and distributed systems is essential.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in Google Cloud Platform or related areas are highly desirable.
• Personal characteristics: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Proven problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset are paramount.
• Physical abilities: Standard office environment, no physical requirements beyond typical office tasks.
The hourly pay range for this position is $75-85/hr (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
