Product Innovation Senior Analyst IV is responsible for independently leading and developing all category mid to long term Global Product Innovation Plans as part of Global Product Management. Identifies, evaluates, and prioritizes new product opportunities leveraging extensive understanding and analysis of product portfolio health, financial KPIs, market trends, consumer needs, and competitive gaps, as well as desired Product Innovation cadences and Regional/Market nuances. Drives and develops multifunctional cross-functional collaboration with category leads and innovation teams, including R&D, CIA, and PIR, to ensure product pipeline is sufficient to meet portfolio needs and category goals. Communicates Product Innovation Plans with multifunctional partners to align innovation efforts and category road maps. Develops and establishes new Innovation Plan framework cadence and leverages industry best practices for ongoing improvement.
Responsibilities
- Product Innovation Planning
- Independently develops Global Product Innovation strategy which identifies, evaluates, and prioritizes new product opportunities across all categories.
- Leverages extensive understanding and analysis of product portfolio health, financial KPIs, Trends in Action, market trends, consumer needs, and competitive gaps for innovation direction.
- Aligns Innovation Plans to Product Portfolio Strategy and Category Strategies while considering Regional and Market nuances and desired Product Innovation cadences.
- Ensures Product Innovation Plans are sufficient to meet portfolio needs and category plans.
- Product Innovation Collaboration
- Drives and develops multifunctional dialog as single point of contact for all Product Innovation Plans.
- Partners with key stakeholders, including Category Leads, Regions/Markets, and R&D, to inform innovation direction.
- Communicates Product Innovation needs to R&D and other innovation partners (CIA, PIR, etc.) to guide and align innovation efforts.
- Considers Product Innovation ideas originating in R&D and other innovation partners (CIA, PIR, etc.) to influence to the Product Innovation direction.
- Consistently influences broader multifunctional organization on innovation direction and seeks alignment through utilization of numerous techniques and stakeholder support.
- Consistently adapts communication method to audience needs and persuades stakeholders to endure commitment to innovation plans.
- Demonstrates ability to maintain strong & impactful relationships despite obstacles and/or conflicts.
- Product Innovation Process
- Develops and establishes new Innovation Plan framework, including but not limited to, plan duration, frequency of updates, and plan visualization for easier understanding by multifunctional audience.
- Regularly engages with industry professionals to ensure best practices in innovation planning.
- Leads developing and implementing Innovation planning process, as well as ongoing improvement.
- Brings new planning ideas that meet stakeholder need and demonstrates in a continuous improvement mindset.
- Collaborates multifunctionally to build strong, productive partnerships and listens to understand partners' needs in Innovation Plan framework.
- Product Innovation Training
- Identify skill gaps in Innovation development in GPM and broader MK.
- Develops and organize trainings to help lift up the entire GPM team skill sets in Innovation.
- This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility.
Skills & Experience
Experience: 7+ years Business/marketing/strategy/technical field or related field
Education: Bachelor/University Degree in Marketing Strategy or related

- A good understanding of the core principles of product portfolio management is preferred.
- Solid business and financial acumen including understanding of financial principles and how to demonstrate this knowledge to make sound business recommendations to achieve business goals in a complex environment with multiple layers of partners.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to support and adapt to changing business and organizational dynamics.
- Must be organized and can handle multiple activities/tasks at a time.
- Must be proficient in software applications such as MS Excel (development of spreadsheets, import/export, and linking); MS Word; MS PowerPoint; MS Project, MS Teams, and MS Outlook. Tableau or data visualization SaaS platforms are preferred.
