Packaging Coordinator/Receiving Clerk

Con Yeager Spice Company has been family owned and operated for nearly 100 years.  We supply top quality spices, seasonings, and custom blends to the meat industry, small and large grocers, retail chains, commercial deer processors, home processors, and home consumers.  

Position Summary - Packaging Coordinator/Receiving Clerk

The Packaging Coordinator/Receiving Clerk is primarily responsible for coordinating and executing tasks that maintain maximum uptime of our various packaging lines.  Strong clerical support to process all packaging batch tickets in addition to printing packaging labels.  Works closely with multiple departments including accounting to provide receiving paperwork upon confirming accuracy of items received. This is a newly created position to provide assistance to the Warehouse Manager.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

• Create, modify and close batch tickets for the packaging room
• Create, print & inspect packaging labels for finished goods products
• Maintain label printers and perform hardware maintenance as necessary, escalating to IT as necessary
• Pick and stage raw and/or intermediate goods in advance of packaging schedule and alerting manager

        of low inventory as may be observed

• Review production/packaging schedule to maintain packaging operations to meet scheduling requirements
• Provide back-up to manager for packaging scheduling
  
• Verify receiving paperwork with visual confirmation of goods, taking related paperwork to Accounting Dept.
• Provide direct assistance to Warehouse/Distribution Manager
• Interact with packaging, warehouse and quality management to coordinate tasks that will support the packaging of safe quality foods in accordance with the HACCP and SQF guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

Position Type and Expected Schedule

• Full time
• Non-exempt (hourly)
• Monday through Friday, typically 40 hours per week, daylight shift
