Shipping and Receiving Clerk

SHIPPING AND RECEIVING CLERK

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk assumes primary responsibility for preparing and tracking incoming/outgoing Federal Express, UPS, and local delivery shipments (domestic and international) and logging and distributing incoming packages. This is a non-exempt position.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Loads and unloads deliveries from incoming and outgoing trucks.

· Verifies customer and order information for correctness and efficiently enters this information into software to generate necessary paperwork. This includes reviewing orders and other documents so as to determine priorities and shipping methods that are needed to meet schedules

· Verifies proper paperwork is received for incoming orders and sent with outgoing orders.

· Inspects and counts shipments before receiving & Shipping and notifies Supervisor of damaged/missing items.

· Tracks and checks in and out department tools and equipment.

· Complies with safety policies, programs & OSHA

· Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees from other departments.

· Assists with other projects, as needed

· Follows the code of conduct and policies defined in the employee handbook

Requirements:

· High school graduate or equivalency

· Attention to detail

· Basic written and communication skills

· Must be able to stand 6-10 hours a day

· Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
