Accounts Receivable Clerk

The Accounts Receivable specialist manages the company’s cash inflow and provides excellent customer service to our internal and external clients. The AR specialist processes billing and collect payment for services rendered to our clients and serves as the main point of contact for any billing inquiries. Must have experience within the Construction industry.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Specialist include:

• Create a billing package for clients and follow up on the payment status.
• Collaborate with Operations to identify projects that need to get billed promptly.
• Resolve collections with a sense of urgency by examining contract deadlines and pay cycles.
• Generate weekly account receivable report and create a collection plan for the senior accountant and owner.
• Ability to project cash receipts for the week and have a weekly collections plan in place.
• Make revisions to the billing package in a timely manner and communicate with clients regularly.
• Post customer payments by recording checks and ACH transactions based on remittance advice.
• Proactively develop a relationship with our clients’ AP department.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in Accounts Receivable.
• QuickBooks Online experience.
• Experience working with or in a commercial construction company.
• Must have a sense of urgency and a natural ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
• Approach issues as opportunities to look for solutions.
• Data entry skills, along with a knack for numbers.
• Proficient with MS Office (proficient in Excel).
• Customer service orientated.
• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred

• AS or BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred.
• Experience with small to medium-sized organizations.
• Experience with contract review.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
