Job Description
Our client is searching for a Payroll Specialist to join their payroll team. This role involves but is not limited to, the timely and accurate processing of company payroll for 700+ employees.
Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
- Work with Payroll Manager to support processing bi-weekly payroll and ensures all accompanying tasks are accurately completed in a timely manner
- Exhibits strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and the ability to manage detail orientation and adherence to compliance requirements
- Supports timely and accurate time entry across the organization
- Ensures any missing time entries are resolved and addressed accordingly
- Support in calculating and paying commissions and various other incentive bonuses
- Supports determination of payroll liabilities by entering all income and social security tax information, 401(k) transfers, direct deposits, wage assignments, and garnishments
- Fulfills wage garnishment requirements by completing forms, adjusting payroll records, etc.
- Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests from internal and external sources, and processing employment verification requests
- Aids in the preparation of year-end reporting information
- Performs a variety of daily administrative HR tasks
- Delivers routine daily/weekly/monthly reporting and responds to ad hoc data requests
- Confirms the accuracy of all data entered, maintains data in the system, and assures information is available on a timely basis
- Acts as a point of contact for data requests within the organization and responds to technical questions and issues
- Coordinates all system upgrades and communicates to applicable parties as needed
Qualifications:
- 3+ year(s) of experience processing payroll
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail necessary
- Self-starter and highly motivated with the ability to work independently and/or collaboratively
- Must be very skilled working within Excel
- Demonstrates the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and exercise discretion and independent judgment at all times
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, team-oriented approach, and ability to establish rapport and trust quickly
- Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary to effectively work with senior management, hiring managers, applicants, and candidates
Salary is somewhat flexible and will be commensurate with experience
