Payroll Administrator

Steele Auto Group is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join the team in Texas. The position will be located in Kyle, TX. The Payroll Administrator plays a pivotal role in our organization. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage payroll processing schedule and ensure deadlines are met.
• Run payroll processing activities and execute interfaces.
• Reconcile payroll results and perform audit checks.
• Follow proper procedures for payroll sign off/approval.
• Run monthly/quarterly reports, including year-end balancing and filings
• Conduct quarterly balancing of year end totals, including researching discrepancies.
• Update processing documentation as needed.
• Act as day-to-day liaison with dealership designated contacts for payroll-related processing.
• Timely review and resolution of issues.
• Highlight and escalate relevant matters that may impact running the payrolls.
• Participate in testing and validation as required for product updates, configuration changes.
• Maintain up to date knowledge and expertise in statutory legislation, and systems.
• Process journal entries and forms such as tax forms, and remittances.
• Assist in the administration of employee programs (i.e. health benefits)
• Keeping employee profile data up to date.
• Collect, verify, and process payroll information in preparation for weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly payroll runs for assigned divisions.
• Determine pay and benefit entitlements for employees as part of data reconciliations.
• Complete, verify and process employee forms and documentation for administration of taxes and benefits such as employment verifications, FMLA verifications, Record of Employment requests.
• Collection of Garnishment Notices and other payroll related mail for distribution.
• First point of contact for employee pay related inquiries such as updating tax withholding forms, address and name changes, pay calculation verifications.
• First point of contact for time & attendance inquiries such as rate and role assignments.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Post-secondary education with a focus on accounting.
• Previous experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role.
• Payroll designation would be considered an asset.
• Knowledge of MS Office, with an intermediate focus on Excel.
• UKG Software Suite experience would be considered an asset.
• Knowledge of year-end processing required.
• Strong planning and organizational skills with proven ability to manage competing priorities, maintain sensitive and highly confidential information.
