Payroll Administrator & Accountant

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Administer & Accountant with an understanding of the full accounting cycle. This position is within the field of real estate and will require the accounting and periodic closing for many sets of books, properties, and entities; in addition to payroll and benefit administration. A successful candidate will have significant accounting experience and/or previous accounting experience directly assisting a CFO or controller.

Responsibilities:

· Create financial statements for owners and executives.

· Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports.

· Ensure all accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines and established accounting principles.

· Assisting with billing and tax documentation preparation.

· Working with CFO and IT Director to maintain financial records and establish internal control and policies.

· Identifying solutions to discrepancies in financial records.

· Administer benefits such as 401K and health, dental and vision.

· Perform payroll semi-monthly.

· Perform accounting for commercial properties, residential properties and real estate entities.

· Enter accounts payable and accounts receivable.

· Monitor bank accounts, ensure timely bank deposits and make entries daily.

· Reconcile cash, credit cards and common area maintenance.

· Compile credit cards and credit card invoices.

· Enter journal entries.

· Complete compliance filings such as quarterly sales tax reports.

· Audit financial transactions and documents.

​Qualifications:

· 5+ years of experience in accounting

· High attention to detail

· Strong Microsoft Excel skills

· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
