Medical Receptionist, Front Desk Receptionist, Call Center Representative, Call Center
We have an immediate need for qualified and experienced Medical Receptionist/Call Center Rep to work at a fast-growing outpatient clinic in Mineola, NY.
This position will assist with the daily operations of the business and front office including scheduling, and patient registration. Must be available to work Mon- Fri have flexibility to work any time between 8:00 am - 7:00 pm.
Full time 40 hours/week
Payrate: $19-21/ hour commensurate with experience
Bilingual (English & Spanish), highly preferred
Must have excellent Patient, Customer Service skills in the medical field.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Answers/places telephone calls in a prompt and professional manner. Directs calls as needed, records, and delivers complete and thorough messages.
- Scheduling: Schedules patients/groups for service(s) with established guidelines (screening for emergencies as well). Schedule appointments to reduce cancellations and recapture lost visits through reschedules and refills. In the event of patient cancellation, when necessary, modifies patient schedule to accommodate staffing and clinic needs.
- Encourages patients to adhere to treatment frequency prescribed by the physician. Offers alternative appointments.
- Greets and registers patients in a timely, professional, and customer-focused manner. Ensures thorough completion of all necessary patient forms with appropriate signatures and copies of insurance cards. Validates accuracy of all information provided by the patient. Enter or verify all information in the eMD software. Works with caregivers and family members (HIPAA defined), validates insurances as well as educates patients on their insurance or lapses of insurance.
- Verification. Verifies patient information prior to initial evaluation. Clearly explains benefits to the patient including all patient financial responsibility, billing processes and outpatient policies and procedures. Extremely verse in mental health managed care carve outs, copays, authorizations
- Treatment/Medication. Ordering medication for patients which includes documenting all medication and reporting Reviews treatment and medication plans, schedules our very sick mentally ill patients for blood work and coordinates with the lab specific dates/times.
- Over the counter collections/copays: Collects patient co-payment and fees. Documents and provides patients with a receipt. Collect, reconciles, and prepares daily bank deposits for over-the-counter cash/copays.
- Medical record maintenance.
- Authorizations. Tracks and obtains ongoing insurance verification/authorization information from payers.
