Job Summary
This position receives and processes applications for examination and/or licensure or certification for Architects, Certified Interior Designers, Landscape Architects, Land Surveyors, Geologists, and Soil Scientists. Each application is reviewed, according to Minnesota Statutes and Rules, to determine whether the minimum requirements for examination, licensure, or certification have been met. Additionally, this position completes verification of examination and licensure for individuals; processes retired status requests, completes address changes; receipts money/EFT funds in the office daily; prepares files for scanning and checks batches in the Board's records systems; and completes miscellaneous duties, including reception duties, as assigned by the Licensing Supervisor, Assistant Executive Director or the Executive Director.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- English sufficient to speak, read, and write at a minimum business/professional proficiency level.
- Customer Service skills (phone and in-person) sufficient to provide courteous, effective service to clients/customers.
- Data Entry skills sufficient to add, maintain, and retrieve information from databases.
- Word processing sufficient to use software to create, format, edit, print, and save a variety of documents, including spreadsheets, tables, and mail merges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Reception experience
- Experience with accounts receivable or bookkeeping
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of professional licensing or other application evaluation and processing
Physical Requirements
Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.
