Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, upbeat person to join our winning team! Since our receptionists are the face and voice of our company, attitude and professionalism are key to the experience that a patient has when interacting with us. The patient should feel welcome, valued, appreciated and helped. Attention to detail is extremely crucial when collecting patient, doctor, insurance and all related information. In order to deliver accurate test results we must collect accurate patient information.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Answering and proper handling of telephone calls.
- Scheduling appointments.
- Obtaining and verifying correct patient, exam, insurance and doctor information.
- Verifying insurance benefits and authorization requirements.
- Taking in faxes and labeling them accordingly (filing them). Calling on the faxed orders to schedule the appointments.
- Greeting patients and giving them appropriate paperwork to fill out, copying id and insurance, and making sure forms are filled out correctly and legibly.
- Faxing/emailing records when requested by patients or doctors.
- Scanning patient charts into RIS
- Scanning history forms and orders into PACs
- Communicating with office manager and/or providers/technologists about patient scheduling.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Must have high school or equivalent.
One year minimum of Medical Office experience is required.
Willingness to learn and grow with a cheerful attitude is a must.
Needs to be a team player. Able to multitask and pay attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
