Medical Receptionist
Suburban Associates in Ophthalmology is a private ophthalmology practice with three locations in the northwest suburbs. We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our team!
Job description
This position will be primarily based in our Elk Grove location. Individual may be required to travel to our other locations based on need. (Arlington Heights & Hoffman Estates office)
Part Time position - Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays (normal business hours) and up to two Saturday AMs a month. Full time potential if exceptional employee after 6 months. Gap Year Students welcome to apply but require a 1 year commitment.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greet each patient with excellent customer service. Assist patients with registration, check-in & check out, and scheduling of patient appointments.
- Answering a high volume of incoming patient calls for scheduling appointments.
- Collection of necessary paperwork, and patient financial responsibilities.
- Preparation of patient chart and input of patient information into electronic medical record system
- Work closely with our clinical team and physician staff.
Job Requirements:
- Previous Medical Receptionist experience preferably Ophthalmology. Knowledge of medical insurance plans and referrals required along with previous EMR experience.
- Detail oriented and excellent patient service skills and ability to evaluate and schedule appointments according to templates. Working closely with clinical team.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment.
