Commercial REL Packer Driver CDL Waste Industry Experience Needed

SUMMARY: FEL and REL Drivers are responsible for the hauling of waste debris from commercial customers and transport waste to a designated landfill/disposal area. The driver is responsible for performing assigned duties on hauling routes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive a FEL or REL loading refuse truck, including right-hand driver's position on certain equipment, observing legal and defensive driving practices.
• Completes route / productivity sheets, records mileage, fuel consumption, logbook (as required), DVIR, and other forms.
• Adhere to policies and procedures in safety manual
• Performs simple vehicle maintenance; cleaning interior of vehicle, checking lights, checking tires, filling fluids, scheduling routine maintenance to keep vehicle running properly.
• Observes all traffic laws and posted speed limits.
• Returns all required documentation to appropriate company official.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Three years related experience
• Must be 21 years or older
• Must have a valid CDL driver’s license
• Must have a valid medical card
• Must be able to pass a pre employment drug/alcohol screening
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

• Frequently required to lift/push/ up to 50 pounds/ more than 50 pounds
• Continually work near moving mechanical parts
• Frequently exposure to outside weather conditions
