TITLE: Human Resources Assistant
PROFILE SOURCE: Part-Time
DEPARTMENT: Human Resources
REPORTS TO: Chief Human Resources Officer
STATUS: Non-Exempt
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Human Resources Assistant will perform administrative and technical assistance in the areas including but not limited to benefits, payroll, employee relations, communications, recruitment, onboarding, training and workforce management to support the effective and efficient operations of the organization's human resource department.
KEY ROLES:
Assist with recruiting candidates using various sources
Ensure confidential background, reference, and fingerprint checks on potential hires are done in a timely manner.
Ensure accurate tracking of new hire's onboarding process.
Ensure human resource files, records, and documentation are accurate, up-to-date and filed appropriately.
Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
Provides clerical support to the HR department.
Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
Assists with employee benefits programs.
Assists with tracking full-time employees’ vacation and sick leave, as well as part-time hours to ensure compliance with ACA.
May be required to assist with Front Desk coverage.
Other duties as assigned
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Interacts regularly with the Chief Human Resources Officer. While this position does not directly supervise employees, it is a critical administrative position that requires ensuring that all employees in the organization are properly supervised and managed
External: Assists with maintaining contact with insurance carriers and other groups. Consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Currently in school for HR or Business Administration, or similar or already completed.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong organizational skills.
Knowledge of Google Drive and Microsoft and other common computer applications
Accurate & efficient data entry skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks
Ability to interact professionally with Club staff, Board members, volunteers and other related agencies.
Knowledge of Paycom (not required, but helpful)
