Full Charge Bookkeeper (Construction)

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and performing various accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in bank reconciliation, general ledger accounting, payroll, tax preparation, and deep familiarity with construction related accounting and its processes. Proficiency in Quickbooks Online is required. Familiarity with project management software is a plus.

Duties:

- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial transactions

- Maintain and update general ledger accounts

- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements

- Process payroll and ensure timely payment to employees

- Assist with tax preparation and filing

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including collections

- Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies or errors in financial records

- Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial data for reporting purposes

- Provide support during annual audits or tax inspections

Requirements:

- Proven work experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role

- Solid understanding of general accounting principles and procedures is required. You must be understand double entry accounting and be proficient with journal entries.

- Proficiency in Quickbooks Online is required

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Excellent organizational and time management skills

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements

- Experience with construction related accounting, including lien releases, certified payroll, percentage billing, etc., is preferred

- Experience in public accounting is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $28.00 per hour
