JtC is a Christian Mental Health group with an active and growing Outpatient mental health program and Autism center. We are primarily based out of MN with programs in MN and TX.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Billing Specialist/Administrator to join our team on a full-time basis (32-40 hours). As a member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing daily claims, denials, and appeals, maintaining an efficient system, working collaboratively with other billing specialist and admin, and assisting with various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The billing department works at the back end and makes sure that claims are submitted on time, and denials are followed up on, and is in charge of creating a billing system that is reliable and highly efficient
- Manage claims, denials, and appeals while ensuring appropriate follow-up action.
- Set and meet goals for denials/correspondence and aged accounts are met within the set guidelines given by management
- Complete scheduled follow-ups with patients and insurance carriers in a timely manner.
- Conduct inbound and outbound service calls related to patient accounts.
- Verify the accuracy of all necessary documentation and information according to departmental policies.
- Post payments accurately, including both patient and insurance payments.
- Assist in credentialing new providers and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide administrative support to the program
Education/Qualifications:
Previous billing experience for Autism Programs is highly sought after for this position.
- Bachelors degree in a related field preferred
- 2+ years experience in a medical-specific role or healthcare industry
- 1 + years experience in Administration is recommended
- Proficiency in billing software and electronic medical records systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with insurance billing regulations and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of medical and billing terminology is strongly recommended
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- E-Clinical work experience is a strongly preferred
- Must have effective written and verbal communication plus interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates the ability to explain complex information to others
- Ability to establish working relationships, resolve interpersonal conflicts, and apply basic staff etiquette in dealing with others
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to learn new procedures and adapt quickly to change
