Salary```Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures and services. Your role will contribute to the financial success of our medical practice by ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement from insurance companies and patients.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records to identify appropriate codes for billing purposes
- Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems
- Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures
- Prepare and submit electronic or paper claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and appeals to ensure maximum reimbursement
- Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries or disputes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of medical coding guidelines and regulations
- Collaborate with the billing team to resolve any coding or billing issues
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of medical coding systems such as ICD-10 and ICD-9
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and terminology
- Proficient in using Medical Billing software systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Preferred Skills:
In addition to the requirements listed above, the following skills are preferred for this position:
- Experience with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding
- Knowledge of medical collections processes
