BILLING/ COLLECTIONS SPECIALIST

We are seeking a proven and experienced Healthcare Reimbursement/Collections Representative. This position is a temp to hire position that will include, but not limited to, the following job duties and responsibilities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Claim status inquires and adding collection notes as necessary.
· Maintains accuracy of patient accounts receivable as assigned.
· Performs a review of patient charts in cooperation with Quality Assurance Director to verify revenue integrity.
· Must be able to perform daily collections on at least 100 claims per day
· Interacts with patients concerning billing inquires.
· Attends RECAP meetings to remain current on the status of patients and services being rendered.
· Must maintain at least two continuing educational courses annually (seminars, Medicare, Medicaid, Accounting or Coding).
·Performs other duties as assigned by the Billing Manager and/or Chief Operations Officer.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

· Candidate must be a high school graduate with at least 2- year of college.

· Candidate must possess 4 years of healthcare experience with a licensed Medical facility.

· Candidate must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc).

· Candidate must possess typing skills that would allow the candidate to type at least 60 words per minute.

· Candidate must display exceptional telephone etiquette.

· Great organization skills.

· Candidate must be punctual.

· Candidate must have neat work habits.

· Candidate must be neat and well groomed.

· Candidate must be able to retain confidential information.

· Candidate must possess at least 3 years Commercial, Medicare and Medicaid Insurance Billing/Collections experience.

· Candidate must be knowledgeable about patient accounting/ billing software systems.

Job Relations

Direct Supervision from the Billing Manager, Financial Manager.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $21.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
