Accounts Payable Clerk

Location: Onsite

Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic Accounts Payable Clerk to provide financial, administrative and clerical support to the organization. This person is in charge of reviewing and entering invoices, processing payments owed by the company to suppliers and other creditors, process expense reports, reconciling statements, monitor company accounts to ensure payments are up to date, resolve bill discrepancies, vendor document maintenance, correspond along with vendors and react to inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.

What you'll do

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the full cycle of the accounts payable of the company

  • Check all invoices for proper documentation prior to issuing payment
  • Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices or receiving orders
  • Review invoices and gather proper approvals for payment
  • Maintain copies of vouchers, invoices or correspondence necessary for files
  • Obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Verify invoices against purchase orders and ensure goods or services were received before issuing payment to vendors
  • Entering and verifying employee expense reports
  • Responding to vendor enquiries regarding payments
  • Maintain copies of W-9s
  • Submit W-9 file to IRS

Must Have

The successful candidate must have:

  • A degree is not mandatory
  • An understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting skills is required
  • A degree in Finance or Accounitng would be beneficial
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience or knowledge of QAD Software is a plus
