ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE / ACCOUNTS PAYABLE ACCOUNTANT

Established in 1975, the firm has made a name for itself in the world of wine with a reputation for friendly and efficient service. The firm provides Direct Import, Distribution, and Warehousing services in the West Coast.
We are looking for an experienced, hands on, Accounts Payable / Receivable Clerk to undertake all aspects of the accounts payable and receivable functions including managing the A/R and A/P function using accounting software, maintain relationships with vendors and customers, and ensuring bills and invoices are tracked, input, and paid in a timely and accurate manner. The Accounts Payable /Receivable Clerk will work with a team of experienced financial and wine distribution professionals and will report to the Controller of Grape Expectations. The position is based in Richmond, CA.
Position Summary:
- Maintain relationships with vendors and customers, communicating with customers to request payment or resolve outstanding A/P and A/R matters.
- Collect payment from customers and accurately record into accounting system.
- Prepare delinquency reports to assist sales team regarding collections.
- Ensure bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner.
- Compare purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges.
- Process transactions and perform accounting duties such as account maintenance, coding invoices, applying credit memos, check requests, recording entries, and reconciliations.
- Maintain bookkeeping spreadsheets and customer/vendor profiles.
- Various office duties including filing, office supplies, etc.
- Track and prepare 1099-Misc reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting experience.
- Microsoft and Google application experience preferred.
- Familiarity with VIP software preferred.
- Good communication skills.
- Well-practiced at self-review and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and functions well under pressure.

Pay: $25.41 - $30.60 per hour
