Job Summary
CADY is looking for a highly motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing Accounting team. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be expected to be the subject matter expert for all aspects of the payables process. Areas of focus will include timely processing of weekly payments, process improvements, cross training, and other strategic projects to enhance the efficiency and controls of the department. This role will report to the Assistant Controller and will play a key role in ensuring the scalability of the payables processes as the company continues to grow. We are building an Accounting team of high performers and trusted partners who leverage data to deliver strategic insights and empower decision-making, solve problems, and mitigate risks. These teammates process payments timely, and accurately to safeguard the company’s assets and to ensure that healthy account relationships are maintained. Your work will directly impact the success of the Accounting team and CADY as we continue our extraordinary growth.
Responsibilities
∙ Ensure that all vendors are paid in accordance with agreed upon payment terms.
∙ Follow established controls to safeguard the company’s assets.
∙ Maintain account relationships by guaranteeing timely and accurate payments.
∙ Research overpayments and request refunds when necessary.
∙ Implement process enhancements to lessen errors and risk of fraud.
∙ Review the weekly aging analysis and accurately propose which payments should be made.
∙ Manage the annual 1099 process
∙ Setup new vendors in Sage following agreed upon approval procedures.
∙ Own the positive pay process and timely action flagged transactions.
∙ Assist with the implementation of various projects to improve the controls over the Accounts Payable processes.
Qualifications
∙ High School Diploma or GED.
∙ 3-5 years of previous experience
∙ Skilled at developing relationships with business partners and serving as a strategic advisor.
∙ Detail oriented and ability to deliver with timeliness and accuracy.
∙ Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with cross functional teams and with senior management.
∙ Builder mentality - identifies problems quickly and is eager to build solutions from scratch, not just improve on the work of others.
