Job Description
SUMMARY: The Scheduling Secretary acts as a receptionist for the unit by answering phones and relaying messages to department staff, accepting and relaying other communications, performs clerical tasks, completes and maintains reports and records, orders office supplies and completes other duties assigned. He/she works in conjunction with unit staff to organize and maintain the accurate accounting of all necessary data and to efficiently schedule operative procedures. He/she assists with reviewing timesheets and is responsible for the accuracy of data prior to submitting the timesheets for payroll processing. He/she assist the Supervisor of Perioperative Services with monthly reports and updating department policies and procedures. He/she takes direction from the unit staff and reports to the Supervisor of Perioperative Services.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Required License/ Certifications: BLS card provided by AHA; ABM/MAB/CPI certificate within (90 days upon hire) annually thereafter
- Computer skills in Word and Excel to create graphs and charts. Knowledge of Access and Kronos preferred
- Has full command (verbal and written) of the English language
- Physical Requirements: Possesses the physical abilities, including heavy lifting, and perceptive acuity, e.g., visual, hearing, to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions. Review physical activities and working conditions for this position
