Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately processing and recording all Accounts Payable transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.

Duties:

- Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports

- Verify accuracy of invoices and resolve any discrepancies

- Prepare and process payments to vendors

- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any outstanding issues

- Maintain accurate records of all Accounts Payable transactions

- Assist with month-end closing activities related to Accounts Payable

- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate payment processing

- Enter time for hourly employees

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting role

- Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word)

- Strong knowledge of account reconciliation principles

- Familiarity with HRIS systems such as ADP or Paychex is a plus

- Experience with governmental accounting is highly desirable

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

- Strong organizational and time management skills
