Accounts Payable Specialist (3 To 5 Yrs Exp)

Job brief

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring the timely payment of invoices received by the law firm. Some of the invoices you pay may be charged to clients, such as deposition costs, filing fees and expert witness fees, while others will be general business expenses, like rent and insurance. Working with your supervisor, you will establish a time frame for paying the recurring monthly bills. Strong organizational skills will help you to stay on top of due dates while monitoring the impact of payments on the firm's bottom line.

Responsibilities:

· Review and process vendor invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and procedures

· Obtain necessary approvals for invoices and expense reports

· Enter invoice data into the accounting system and ensure accurate and timely payment to vendors

· Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on any discrepancies or outstanding payments

· Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any issues in a timely and professional manner

· Maintain accurate and complete Accounts Payable records and ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements

· Assist with month-end close processes and other ad-hoc financial reporting as needed

Requirements:

· Minimum of 3-5 years of Accounts Payable experience

· Plaintiff Law Firm Experience a plus

· Understanding of Settlement & Disbursements a plus

· Experience using Great Plains accounting software is a plus

· Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
