Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Accounting Clerk (AC) to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. The AC will use our existing accounting software program (QuickBooks) to process business transactions, like accounts payable and receivables. As well, maintain concurrent receivables in our property management software program (Builduim). A successful AC should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a flair for numbers. Ultimately, a successful AC will ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.
Duties & Responsibilities
The following areas of responsibility include:
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
- Daily enter key data of financial transactions into QuickBooks and in Buildium. Scan checks to deposit into financial institution.
- Ensure that all rents and late fees/check charges are collected, posted and deposited in a timely manner.
- Processing Accounts Payable payments (vendor, utilities, mortgages, etc), and maintaining accurate bookkeeping records of all transactions including reoccurring (weekly and monthly).
- Reconcile all accounts in a timely manner and maintain organized records in filing system.
- Check the accuracy of business transactions, research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
- Inform management and compile reports/summaries .
- Constantly update job knowledge.

Qualifications include:
- Proven accounting experience or finance.
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
- Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software. Knowledge with QuickBooks and Excel is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
- Accuracy and attention to detail. Aptitude for numbers.
- Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks. Well organized.
- High school degree.
- Associate’s degree or relevant certification is a plus.
