Job Description
The Accounting Clerk performs and assists in a variety of daily accounting activities for Merrick Bank Corporation (the “Bank”). Supporting the accounting staff by uploading entries, filing and various other tasks as assigned. Will help support the finance department by ordering supplies, storage organization and assist with planning and organizing department functions.
Essential Functions:
- Routes all incoming and outgoing mail and packages
- Relieves officials of clerical work and minor administrative details as designated by supervisor.
- Performs daily filing tasks.
- Prints daily reports.
- Performs data entry.
- Assists with clerical duties as requested.
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Controller.
Compliance with Laws & Regulations:
- Responsible for complying with all of the Bank’s internal control policies and procedures.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with all laws and regulations to which the Bank is subject.
- Responsible for communicating problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, noncompliance with laws and regulations, policy violations, or illegal acts.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma is required.
- One (1) year of work experience is preferred.
Summary of Qualifications:
- Experience with, and demonstrated skill at, the following computer applications: Word Processing, Spreadsheet (Excel preferred), and Outlook.
- Ability to identify and solve practical problems with little or no supervision.
