Job description

The approximate salary range in New York and Washington State is $177,775 to $217,773 per year with incentive opportunities. The approximate salary range in California and New Jersey is $164,100 to $201,025 per year with incentive opportunities. The approximate salary range in Colorado is $150,425 to $184,275 per year with incentive opportunities.
Position Overview
Responsible for the profitability and operational success of the global Rigging Services including over 1,000+ business locations across all geographic territories where the company has rigging, including North America, UK, Europe, Middle East, and other such locales as may be required by acquisitions and expansion. Provides industry leadership to maintain Encores' position as the world's largest provider of Event Rigging Services and acts as a subject matter expert on behalf of the organization in legal proceedings which may occur in any part of the global operations for this $200M+ business unit. Directs the leadership team who oversees $25M+ regions comprised of many US states and/or the international territories of Canada, and Mexico. Oversees the design, strategic planning, and implementation of rigging training and specialized certifications globally as may be appropriate for each international jurisdiction to promote the health and safety of Encore's technical workforce. Responsible for the production rigging which covers all areas of rigging point and equipment inspections and re-certifications, as well as rigging operations for the Premier Global Event group in non-contracted facilities in North America. Accountable for installations of the global design, construction, engineering, and installation of Encore's rigging point and life safety systems. Directs the sales organization tasked with managing and executing the strategic sales plans relative to Rigging Services on behalf of the organization. Ensures excellent customer service, operational and equipment safety, personal protection equipment safety, and service delivery excellence. This position reports to the SVP, Specialty Services.
Job Responsibilities
Organizational Leadership, Strategy, and Vision
Provides organizational leadership and guidance through mentoring, strategy and vision creation and deployment, consistent and measured accountability across all sales and operations channels, implementation of basic / intermediate / advanced training programs, and development and deployment of global SOPs to support executive and senior managers and their regional operations teams with creating operationally effective, safe, and profitable business units in each of our global hotel, convention center, branch, and production locations. Create and execute rigging integration plans across the organization in support of merger and acquisition activity. Accountable for growing the business and meeting profitability standards across the global footprint as established within the organizational goals. Provide leadership and support to the sales development process in both new venue agreements and external market expansion opportunities.
People Development
Responsible for the direction and creation of the overall vision, strategy, and oversight of deployment of all rigging training and certification programs globally to annual training base of over 800 employees. Ensure that all employees in each territory are receiving training opportunities at the basic / intermediate / advanced levels to support their business activity as may be required by Encore's SOPs, ETCP, CM, ANSI, OSHA, LOLER, PUWLER, or other regulatory bodies as may be applicable. Accountable for creating global budgets for growth and maintenance capital and replenishment efforts, allocation of resources, facilitation of HR functions relating to hiring / termination / progressive discipline of upper-level manager tier, formation of recruiting support strategies, and mentoring of upper managers to attain high level technical certifications and attainment of high service excellence.
Global Advancement & Industry Affiliation
Provides strategic direction, tactical road mapping, and industry presence on behalf of the organization to establish and maintain Encore's role as a world-class rigging provider. Responsible for the leadership and creation of new regulatory standards (i.e. - ANSI and OSHA) to the industry, partnership and development of new industry certifications (such as ETCP), thought leadership in the areas of new business opportunities, new training needs, and development of new certifications across North America, UK, Europe, and Middle East. Accountable to promote Encore's Rigging Service offering for contracted and non-contracted venues as well as Encore's rigging installation and life safety system design and installation capabilities. Responsible for representing Encore's Specialty Services to PLASA (both domestic and international) as well as serving as Encore's primary point-of-contact on the Rigging Work Group and ETCP Certifications Council. Responsible to serve in board-of-director, executive-level positions on behalf of the industry and Encore.
Information & Finance Management
Utilize data to effectively oversee the business unit globally by analyzing revenues and costs to determine the profitability of the rigging component at each location. Accountable for driving results and providing feedback to executive and upper-level managers to support in maximizing business performance. Assist operations leaders in developing and implementing strategies that improve efficiency and effectiveness while maximizing the utilization of all existing labor and equipment resources. Align sales supporting resources and drive efficiencies through the sales life cycle of all new opportunities that promote the health of the organization by supporting the capture of new, profitable, and strategic business for Encore through the leveraging of sales channel strategies. Responsible for the on-going financial management of the global rigging business (inclusive of installations activities) as well as the creation of growth and maintenance capital budgets, sales pipeline forecasting for projections, special capex initiatives, identification of business trends or concerns alongside solutions, and dissemination of appropriate data to regional and executive managers.
Construction, Design & Safety
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring for Encore's global construction, design, and maintenance activities which ensure the safety of the rigging service. Responsible for the vision, strategic direction, growth, and oversight of the rigging installation activities across North America, UK, Europe, Middle East and other non-contracted venue new build and transition territories in support of our hotel partners. Responsible for direction and oversight of Encore's structural engineering activities, code and regulatory compliance SOPs and measures relative ANSI / OSHA / ASME / LOLER / PUWLER, life safety system installations, equipment inspections and recertifications, rigging point installations, structural upgrades, hybrid construction activities and permitting within the commercial construction industry, and resolution of code violations on behalf of the organization.
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree is preferred in a business management discipline
• 15+ years related rigging leadership experience, preferably 5 or more years in large production
• International business development experience preferred
• Must be a strategic visionary that can adapt and apply the Encore brand in an evolving marketplace.
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Industry representation and regulatory standards development experience
• Extensive understanding of the hospitality industry and hotel / convention center facilities
• Advanced understanding and ability to read designs, bid specifications, and blueprints
• Extensive understanding of the commercial construction industry and processes surrounding building permits, engineering reviews, code compliance, and distribution of duties relative to union and non-union environments
• Code violation remediation experience with OSHA / ANSI / PLASA and international regulatory bodies
• Must be able to collaborate with multiple disciplines within the business and build and deliver excellence on very aggressive timelines
• Fluent in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoints)
• Proficient in strategic road mapping, critical thinking, and life safety systems deployment
• Proficiency in legal code requirements relating to rigging for United States, Canada and Mexico.

Work Environment
Work is generally performed at an office that is moderately quiet. Team members will occasionally visit other work locations for meetings or for other business reasons. Working times will include days and may include evenings, weekends and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore. Estimated travel 50%.
