Job description

This position is physically located at the California Natural Resources Building in Downtown Sacramento.

Under supervision of the Manager, Contract Services Section, the incumbent provides analytical services in support of multi-million dollar contracts, critical for services and goods to maintain the State Water Project.

Department of Water Resources (DWR) was established in 1956 by the California State Legislature. We manage California’s water resources, systems, and infrastructure, including the State Water Project, in a responsible sustainable way.

Special Requirements

The incumbent must be willing to, on occasion, travel and stay overnight in various locations throughout the State of California. Must possess a valid California Driver's License, with a good driving record as travel throughout the State will be required to attend meetings and training. Employee is required to successfully complete all safety training related to the functions of the job. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with multidisciplinary staff management, and others in the course of business; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; maintain regular, consistent, and predictable attendance; and develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Federal, State and DWR laws, regulations, policy and procedures, particularly in the area of contracting. It is desirable for the incumbent to have knowledge and experience with research, analytical and technical skills, communication and customer service, procurement and contracting, and databases related to SAP.

This position is office-centered which means the incumbent works fifty percent or less of their time monthly from an alternate work location, which can change at any time.
