Job Description and Duties

Under supervision of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I), the incumbent will act as the fiscal contact person for selected regions for the administration of the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P). In a first journey level capacity, activities may include: independently responsible for developing and/or maintaining the grant administration (for selected regions) for county and district local educational agencies' (LEAs) fiscal personnel, grant coordinators, and regional coordinators with grants funded with funds from the ELO-P; answering questions related to the grant condition; coordinating all fiscal operations of grants; researching fiscal issues; and providing input to and follow-up on issues and action items requiring policy and regulation changes for the Expanded Learning programs; maintain program budgets and advise LEAs regarding proper expenditures; identify potential grantee site problems and resolve them in conjunction with the unit manager and consultants; write, review, and/or edit grant award notifications; review expenditure reports, budget revisions, and attendance reports; prepare written directives for consultants to inform grantees of and provide analysis of attendance and expenditure trends; prepare written responses to letters and other inquiries; prepare written analyses and recommendations to consultants and management on issues.
Activities may also include: consult with program office staff, administrators, managers, and consultants on fiscal issues regarding regional ELO-P grants; responsibility to develop, implement, maintain, monitor logging of reports and procedures for processing payments based on expenditure and other reporting; make recommendations, respond to questions, and provide advice to division regional consultants for field regional grantees and program coordinators; develop and make presentations at regional sites, in-service training orientations, staff meetings, program staff trainings, and other divisions within the department.

Working Conditions

TELEWORK OPTION

This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in California. A hybrid telework schedule includes working remotely and physically reporting to the office.

In Office refers to all working days.

Hybrid refers to some working days in office and other days telework eligible.

Telework refers to all working days at approved alternate work location.
