Staley Construction, Inc., is seeking a full or part-time Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper to assist in maintaining our financial department. We are willing to explore flexible office hours and hybrid office/home options for any candidate who is capable of all performance aspects and is able to work office hours at least three days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Conduct month-end and year-end close processes
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations
- Prepare and file tax returns, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper financial reporting and compliance
- Provide support during audits and assist with audit preparation
- Stay updated on accounting regulations and best practices
Experience:
- Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role, Construction Accounting Preferred
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations
- Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., ProCore, QuickBooks)
- Experience with bank reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and financial statement preparation
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong understanding of technical accounting principles
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
