This role is responsible for Paid Social & Programmatic strategy, optimization, and execution in partnership with a media agency. The position requires experience in paid media strategy and management. This person will partner with a media agency and the wider media team to deliver profitable returns through advertising.
- Staying close to agency research/strategy team to understand industry trends and advocating for testing different allocations to match consumer time-spent
- Tracking objective allocations to understand impact to profitability targets and advocating for quarterly spend optimizations accordingly
- Leading quarterly/annual planning with agency partner for Social & Programmatic, scrutinizing their recommendations to ensure they ladder up to business objectives and brand priorities, and checking for best practices, especially audience strategy
- Collaborating with other channel leads and integrated media managers to build cohesive media strategy given budget realities
- Guiding learning agenda for the 2 channels, ensuring tests balance business impact and ease of implementation
Reporting/Optimization
- Guide team and agency on daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting expectations, including data sources, trends to observe, cadence and circumstances to take action
- Scrutinize agency reporting for accuracy and logic. Translate for intended audience.
- Act as channel expert in reporting calls with internal stakeholders, assisting direct reports with context
- Educate internal leadership on the do’s and don’ts of So & Pro channels, particularly with evolving impact of privacy constraints
- Lead onboarding of reporting tools for managed channels, or technology connections
Process
- Set formalized precedent for direct reports to follow inclusive of (but not limited to): budget tracking, PO requests, asset intake form building, mock ad QA, reporting QA, media plan review, setting and tracking a learning agenda, billing clearance
- Delineate tasks amongst direct reports for fair workload and for growth potential
- Minimum years’ experience: 5-7
- Passion and knowledge in (a specific field or industry): digital marketing
- Experience in: Paid Social platforms, particularly Meta, TikTok, Snapchat
- Technical knowledge and level of skill needed: understand how to optimize retail ads, ie- dynamic ads
- Successful candidates will: have a healthy balance of technical knowledge and comfort managing a large team (their own direct reports + a large agency team)
