What is Placement?
Internships and job placement is the portion of our program curriculum that requires students to either get practical experience or to land a job. A student makes tremendous progress during the internship which makes the internship placement critical to the students’ long-term career goals. Finding internships can be stressful for students, but MIM is here to assist them.
The Placement Director oversees the entire process by developing a network of company partners, finalizing agreements and fees with them, ensures that the placement and students are compliant with education and immigration US laws, and works with MIM and the students to promote a quality experience that meets their standards.
Job Overview
Energetic, dynamic and ambition individual, entrepreneur at heart, a go-getter, who measures work not in hours but in results achieved. He or she will build the Internship Department as a startup staffing and placement office for qualified and motivated domestic and international students.
Key elements of this role include developing, maintaining, reviewing, and enhancing our portfolio of placement companies across all industries for our students and striking agreements with them to do on-campus interviews and recruit our students regularly. MIM is particularly interested in placing students with strong Information Technology (“IT”) and software backgrounds in the fast growing technology sector as well as business and management students with STEM backgrounds. The successful candidate will support students to secure an industry placement and assist them to put into practice the knowledge and skills they have learnt in the classroom.
The candidate will also help elevate the quality of MIM Internship placements. In this role, you will manage and cultivate MIM's existing partnerships in addition to using Business to Business Sales and Marketing skills to develop additional company relationships.
You’ll be expected to:
· Work with Hiring Managers, Placement Agencies, Online Sites throughout the internship process, from start to finish
· Cultivate and enrich relationships with new and existing partners.
· Build and update a database:
o for new recruitment needs.
o Of partner companies in diverse sectors such as FinTech , Financial Services (Banking and investments), Consulting and Audit, Digital Marketing, Operations, Hospitality and Fashion
We are looking for individuals with:
· A Bachelor’s Degree with Business and IT concentrations
· Software and IT work experience a plus
· Several years of experience at a staffing or recruitment agency or HR Recruiting firm with proven track record of clients and candidates placement
· Portfolio of contacts with Hiring Managers at companies and/or clients from previous job experiences
· Work independently with little direct supervision
· Entrepreneurial spirit
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
