Job Summary: The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the accounting activities, month-end close and financial reporting for VeeFriends. It is beneficial if this candidate has experience in media, entertainment and licensing. The Accounting Manager will oversee the preparation of monthly financial reporting, and develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls. This role will report to the Executive Vice President, Commerce.
Responsibilities:
Accounting & Reporting
- Lead month-end close process in conjunction with a fractional accounting/finance firm
- Consolidate and prepare monthly financial statements, including trend and variance analysis
- Own general accounting processes, including streamlining workflow and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliverables
- Increase efficiency and document internal processes and controls
- Support entities through audit , fundraising, and due diligence as needed, and support Legal, HR, and cross-functional colleagues where Financial Data, Statements, and analyses are required
- Provide support to Leadership in management and maintenance of wider Financial tools and infrastructure - including but not limited to banking, corporate credit cards, expense reimbursement platforms, Crypto-specific accounting ledgers, AP/AR tools & platforms, and more
Qualifications:
- At least 6 years of operational accounting experience
- An undergraduate degree in Accounting
- Experienced with full close-cycle, accrual-based accounting
- Demonstrated a history of integrity, honesty, and accountability
- Proactive communicator with problem solving and organizational skills
- A passion for implementing business controls and learning and driving process improvements
- Comfortable working in a startup environment with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Experience within high-growth, venture backed companies and industries a plus.
- Experienced in QBO and Shopify
- Experience with Bitwave and/or other crypto subledgers a plus
- Advanced Excel knowledge
- Experience working in media, entertainment and or licensing a plus.
Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000
